Aishah is a widow with three children and two grandchildren. She also takes care of her mother who is suffering from a kidney problem. Aishah currently runs a small catering service out of her home to support her family. To make ends meet, she also home-bake pineapple tarts and sells them through consignments at local stores. In a good month, she gets about RM2000 from the two main income streams. That is, if there is no delay in payment which often happens. These payment delays, always result in difficulties in taking on the next catering service jobs, or to enable her to buy her pineapple tarts baking supplies. Cash flow has often been a big challenge. With a small loan, Aishah will have a better cash flow and thus will be able to take on more catering service jobs while baking more pineapple tarts for consignments.
